Window FIlm Installation
Mayfield School East Sussex
About the project
We were called into Mayfield School after they had experienced some accidental glass breakage, the incidents were happening with old fashioned Victorian sliding windows, where the students at the school were using the glass to push the lower pane up to open them but because the glass was only 4mm float it could not take the pressure and was cracking and falling out.
Obviously, this is very dangerous. Not only for the person pushing the glass but anyone underneath or in close proximity.
After these accidents they knew something had to be done before any serious injuries occurred. After surveying the school, we had established the high priority areas and put a plan in place. Over 1000 windows needed safety window film installed and this was broken down into sections. We completed all the work out of school terms or out of hours so no distractions or disturbances were made.
Our 100micron safety window film has a super high tack pressure sensitive adhesive, which bonds to glass once installed. This means that in the event of the glass breaking it is held in place and will not fall out of the frame. The safety window film is applied to the inside of the glass so no sharp edges will be in contact to the skin if there is an accidental glass breakage. We do a variety of safety window films and security window films to suit every need. Although this window film is not specifically designed to stop break ins it will certainly help and also stops 90% of the harmful UV rays.
We carry out all of our surveys free of charge, so if you feel some of your glass may not meet health and safety regulations or you would just like to make your glass safer and stronger, then please get in touch for your free quotation.
